Key wallets and key holders have fasteners that are visible, my design approach was to simplify the exterior appearance and reduce the amount of components while engineering a mechanism that allows a seamless product surface. The two separate halves of the key wallet are hard anodized then chamfered to produce a soft edge while creating an elegant break that produces contrast between joining surfaces.
Precision cnc machined out of a single block of 6061-T6 aluminum, the Swivel key wallet maintains the level of fit and finish associated with high end consumer products, creating a tolerance of .001 in mechanical accuracy. Initially each unit is machined then tumbled in a rotary tumbler which uniformly "softens" hard edges, then cleaned in a wash station to remove all the process impurities, after which the matt finish is produced using a glass bead blasting process. All key wallets with the exception of brass are hard anodized to protect against normal wear and tear, with a final color step completed the last chamfering operation is performed. The top plate of the key wallet pivots 90 degrees to the left on an 10mm shielded internally lubricated stainless steel bearing for durability. the 4 neodymium magnets have a combined pull strength of 15 pounds, plenty to maintain a secure closed position. The stainless steel locking pin prevents the twisting motion of the key wallet to torque open the unit while its being used to open a door. To create optimal resistance to the key swing out action there are 1.5 mm o-rings included. Have an odd number of keys, no problem, just add the included 2.5mm delrin spacer to maintain resistance.
